Bhatt’s film on Bhutto faces objection
If it’��s anything to do with Pakistan it has to be either Mukesh or Mahesh Bhatt. After having a large number of film themes revolving around Pakistan, Mr.Bhatt was all set launch his new film on Benazir Bhutto.
The film which was stated to be a co-production between Anila Khan (Benazir’��s secretary’��s sister) and Vishesh films has now faced objection from Bhutto’��s husband Asif Ali Zardari .
Zardari claims that it was agreed between him and Benazir that only renowned Hollywood filmmaker Robert Redford of All the President’��s Men and The Candidate fame would direct a film on Benazir. As Mukesh Bhatt is in discussion with Zardari’��s lawyer in Dubai it is still not known whether the intellectual property rights have already been sold to Robert Redford.
In any case looks like Shabana Azmi has to wait a while before she steps into Bhutto’��s shoes.
