Australia will be mighty happy on having settled old scores with India and doing so in great style as well. They have thumped India by a margin of 9 wickets.
Their bowlers did a very good job early on but the Indians have themselves to blame for what happened. Their batsmen never tried to get used to the conditions and started going bang bang straightaway. India lost wickets consistently and no one other than Pathan managed to reach double figures. Not much can be said about the Indian bowling because 74 was never a score that could have been defended against a team like Australia.
Gilchrist chipped in with 25 in his last T20I innings and skipper Clarke ensured that he saw his side home comfortably. The focus now shifts to Brisbane where these two teams meet again but in the longer format of 50 overs.
