Alas! It’s a great disappointment for not just Vijay fans, but for audiences who expected a lot from Director Dharani. Director who earlier rocked with blockbuster flicks like Dhill, Dhool and Ghilli has completely presented us with a film that has nothing attractive. All throughout the film, you have the lots of absurdities that will get you annoyed. Well, we are sure even the surest fans of Vijay would been greatly discomfited. Vijay jumping from the height of 150ft bridge and getting hold of a running train at high speed.
The film opens with tycoon Suman and Ashish Vidhyarthi as local MLA at a village in Andhra Pradesh troubling a big group of lay people as their slaves for digging diamonds from the ground illegally. Manivannan is one among them and unable to bear the suffering, he bursts out in anger assuring the baddies that his son will surely get it retaliated.
The scene immediately switches over to 20 minutes of visual kind of advertisement for Car racing, where we have the hero Vetrivel (Vijay) winning it and then followed by a title song where he shakes his leg with Malavika. But sooner, trouble falls on his way when a stranger along with his group asks him and his family to vacate the house.
Situations force him to fleet for Malaysia along with his friend played Vivek as a carrier and over there he has to face unexpected sequences that will let the hidden dark mysteries revealed.
Getting on with the performance, Vijay does a stupendous job when it comes to stunts and dance, but you know something? A person jumping from a long height, breaking a tree by kicking it is something that will make you laugh instead applause for. If Vijay continues to go for same kind of stuffs, then we are sure that Ilayathalapathy will overtake Telugu Superstar Balakrishnan who does more unbelievable comedic stunts like Kicking the track and re-routing the train from one platform to another and Mahesh Babu who breaks the wall into bricks just with a fist of hand.
Trisha on the other hand has nothing when compared to Jyothika’s performance in Dhool as directed by Dharani. Her dance is horrible and emoting to the situations are also not up to the expectations. Vivek is the only convincing part for the film and he makes you laugh to peak with his rib-trickling comedy tracks right throughout the first half. But the greatest flaw is Dharani putting an end to him in the second half.
Suman looks so bubbly that he is not apt for the negative role and it would have been nice if he was termed with starting lines of the song ‘Molu Molunu’.
Though couple of songs has been tuned in well like title song ‘Dandana Darna’ and ‘New Year Song’, other songs aren’t placed properly and it looks odd and makes you yawn with few. And you get vexed with the stunts, for they form major portion of the film. If stunts in the film are extracted, then duration of the movie would be hardly for 60mins.
Few traces of Telugu movie Bangaru directed by Dharani and stunt scenes imitated from Mahesh Babu Starrer Nandu are easily blatant.
As a whole, Kuruvi is a movie that can be watched for those who love lots of stunts without a gripping story and screenplay. A treat for diehard fan of Vijay and nothing special from Dharani who raised our expectations and now dashing it all.

Worst ever vijay movie after aadhi.. nothing much to speak about the movie and the motive of the movie is known just 20 min into the movie and all the scenes are pretty much predictable. second half of the movie is very disgusting. trisha just has few scenes and appears in 3 songs. seems like the director has thought that having vijay in the movie will work with no story and gooffed up screenplay… may be the director should watch blood diamond and see how that movie has been made.. the plot of the movie has been lifted right from blood diamond and asking vijay to do what di caprio has done in that movie… nothing big in the movie… songs are horrible and worst picturized… see blood diamond movie instead of this movie..

hi..its totaly unfair..that everyone did the job badly except vijay…very badly directed…picturized…edited film.. vijay shuld be very careful for forthcoming films…he should take care of screenplay.. second half of kuruvi was very slow and bored..vijay films normally u can see many times ..i’m afraid to say this..thisone not in that terms..sorry vijay..

It has become a routine to boast too much about a flop movie for weeks before the launch. All the leading magazines were covering Kuruvi for almost three weeks now. Such a horrendous movie. தரணி சரக்கு எல்லாம் தீந்துபோச்சு போல! I don’t find him to be any different to Perarasu.. தூள், தில், கில்லி கொடுத்த தரணியா இது? விஜய் படம்னா இவ்ளோ compromise பண்ணனுமா? பன்ச் டயலாக் மழை, background la பாட்டு போடறேன்னு அந்த தண்டனை வேற.. தாங்க முடியலடா சாமி! பாட்டு இசையாச்சும் காப்பாத்தும்னு பாத்தா வித்யாசாகரும் சொதப்பிட்டாரு! அவங்க அவங்க பங்குக்கு அநியாயத்துக்கு சொதப்பி இருக்காங்க! சொதப்பல்ல முக்கிய பங்கு விஜய்க்கு! கில்லி கொடுத்த டீம் இப்படி ஒரு கேவலமான படம் கொடுத்திருக்காங்க! சும்மா, படம் ஹிட், எல்லா ஏரியாலும் பயங்கர வசூல், வசூல் சாதனைன்னு தன்னை தானே ஏமாத்தி, மக்களையும் ஏமாத்தாம, பொறுப்பா உண்மைய ஒத்துக்கணும், அப்ப தான் அடுத்த படமாச்சும் ஒழுங்கா இருக்கும், இந்த ரேஞ்சுலயே போனா விஜய் பாவம் தான். அஞ்சு வருசம் கழிச்சி, விஜய் படத்துலேந்து டைட்டில் கார்டு மட்டும் போடாம முழு படம் காட்டினாலும் மக்களால சொல்ல முடியாது அது என்ன படம்னு.. அந்த அளவுக்கு ஒரே சவுண்டு, டயலாக். என்ன கொடுமை விஜய் இது! முதல் படமே நல்ல பாடம் உதயநிதிக்கு, சின்னப்பையன், தொழிலுக்கு புதுசுன்னு விஜய்யும் தரணியும் நல்லா அவரு தலையில பிரியாணிக்கே மசாலா அரைச்சிருக்காங்க! கண்மூடித்தனமான விஜய் ரசிகனுக்கே பிடிக்காது குருவி. விட்டுகொடுக்க முடியாம, மனசாட்சிய கொன்னுட்டு, படம் சூப்பர், கலக்கல்னு நிறைய பேர் சொல்லுவாங்க தான், அது அவங்க விஜய்க்கு கொடுக்கற மரியாதை, அதுல பகுதியாச்சும் திருப்பி கொடுக்கவேண்டிய கடமை விஜய்க்கு இருக்கு..

hi!kuruvi is movie with nice story line.first half was racy.vijay,s action sequences were mind blowing.songs were picturized well.second half of the film was slow.vivek has done his job.Dharani has not lived up to the expections of fans.He had ample time to penn the story and screenplay of the movie after pokiri.But he just had copied the telugu movie chatrapathi for the second half of the movie.Dharani Is it nice on your part?.vijay there r so many fans of u with great storyline n script.Listen to them,U wil b the next megapower after rajini…

the people who loves vijay presence,the people who loves dharanis fast and racy screenplay,the people who loves the total entertainer film,and the audience who want to watch the film just for entertaining,and the people who loves vijays dance and action sequence ..for these above said peoples this film will be a definite let down[:(]
The worst ever film i have seen in the recent years…you may or may not beleive but this is the true.as im belonging to the category who loves pukka commercial entertainer,so that i watched this film with my roommates(obv vijay fans) make to watch this film in FDFS itself.
The reason i went for this film is bcoz of pokiri.bcoz this is the film which has all the ingredients like action,romance,sentiments,and all.
so that with the impact of this film i went to this film.but for me this is not even 10% of ghilli.!to be a frank i have spent nearly an 2 1/2 for this film and my 80 rupees for this film.even im not a great fan of vijay i do like him because hes somewhat doing good in dance in song.so that i had gone to this film with my friends,those who are all die hard fan of vijay.but most of them got vexed before 45 minutes of climax.i was completely vexed,coz the climax especially the stunts which vijay has done is completely horrible.i think he is thinking of him like a superman or spiderman.thats why he is doing something which cant be done by an ordinaru hero.and the another disgusting thing is the screenplay there is no proper sccreenplay.we can predict the story easily.one of my friend who was sitting nearer to me told all things rightly,that too he is watching that film for the first time.as the whole this film is totally suckz.the people who watched this film wasted their money!do you?
this is strictly only for VIJAYKANTH film lovers.bcoz in this film we can see in the name of stunt which has come in lot of vijaykanth film.so itz better if you have keep yourself away from this film.

Kuruvi is an overall crowd puller if you dont apply too much logic. It has the gen movie masala with action, sentiments all thrown in together. An average summer treat.

Hi every one who says KURUVI IS CRAP is not nice.I’m trying to be nice here but people say bad things about films without seeing them and thats because people don’t like Vijay.I like vijay he’s the best in my opinion but not all of his films were good Aathi was kinda crap.Kuruvi might have some bad oints but people who say every part of it is bad thats just wrong.I’ve watched the movie and it’s great.

It is a good Commercial Movie with one are two irritating scenes and a most usual VIJAY’s action is too goog. a must see action movie. As I said in some places it is too much commercial effect. only 3 songs are good. Theme song suits vijay. I will give 70 out of 100

Hyeya, I’m pretty much known as a die hard fan of vijay!!! Frankly speaking vijay’s kuruvi isnt tat good as his previous ones bt yet he hs given his best shot wit new stuntz. atleast he tried sumtin new,,,so for tat i’d appreciate him bt if u were about to spend a huge amount to watch d mvie, i’d say better dun.Rather get a dvd for yaself.The storyline s jz general as usual,meanwhile actin werent to be proud of.but,vijay’s dance were awesomw s usual.trish aint tat gud either.Overall, i’d give 40% fr the mvie yet 100% fr my switheart VIJAY!!hehe

And to be frank the film is OK …….It is better than ATM and
AADHI…..
But i am literally dissapointed with the film ,i actually expected more from Dharani….
The film Story line is very simple and predictable…
Some Action sequences are illogic and unrealistic…
First half is quite good(with Vivek comedy), but second half will make us feel bored and lenghty….
It is a complete masala movie with mediocre screenplay….
Dharani should have done better…..

pls convey your review honestly. Its true vijay wants to portray his film commerical but not like this. He thinks as if he has achieved everything in his career and not taking much interest in the film and not sure why the industry his lifiting him much higher as he is super star. He is not super star and he is zero star. Vijay - its hightime you should start concentrating on your story of your films and should not think that your fans so much idiots to watch whatever you do…

Kuruvi one of the worst movies i ve seen in past few months..
This movie has been made thinkin that people stupids..The movie completely defies any logic..nearly 5 ppl fire bullets on Vijay by standin 5 feet away and not even a single bullet touches him!!!He jumps from the roof of a house to a movin train..the distance between the train and house shud nearly half a kilometre!!!Songs cum in completely irrelevant places..

I hv not seen the movie yet. Well everyone will watch the movie to see what it is? Opinion differs. Tamil movies needs flying actions , Gud dance , One item song, 10 punch dialogue’s and 2.30 hrs time pass . As we can see crazy directors as actors for 2.30 hrs on screen. The movie is full of comercial. The first half comedy and second half only action.Second half more scenes copied in telugu movie chatrapathi. Songs all not bad. Really very good dance moments of first intro song(dharna) & climax song(yamma yamma). Vijay proved again his dance moments, and also did a very good job for dance master prem rakshith after ATM (ella pugazum). Vijay can do some leg moments, audience all noticed that prem rakshith only choreographed this song.Totally this movie is a average summer entertainment.

Good news to Ajith Fans!….
When comparing to our THALAI’s “ALWAR”, Kuruvi is nothing.
ALWAR was a real “BLOCKBUSTER” movie, Kuruvi is a flop one…
I became a diehard fan of Ajith after seeing the action movie “ALWAR”.

I was moved by Dharani`s previous films Ghilli,Dhool and with a great expectation,I watched the movie yesterday..Huh..Its a total comedy..People who are talking about viveks comedy in the film has missed about Vijay`s stunt comedies. I guess Vijay thinks himself as some superman or some spiderman. Jumping from great height ,chasing the trains, diving away from 100 pistol bullets without injury..What is this?? Even a diehard fan of vijay shouldnt applause for these..(If he has some sanity).
The movie is a total joke.. There is no logic..If u want see some magic, go and watch Harry Potter..

I have ever seen a worst film in my life. But after seeing Kuruvi I felt very bad. I wasted my hard earned money and precious time. I am not a fan for anybody, So this words comes from my hearr. Truly I am saying Aathi is far far better compare to Kuruvi, in Aathi atleast songs were gud. But in Kuruvi nothing is gud except Vivek’s comedy. Simply to support vijay, his fans are trying.I think they are going mad poor people. Bcoz of Udayanithi’ name and wealth they are trying to show that the movie is big hit and giving advertisement and all.
“Kuruvi” total disappointment for all vijay fans.

Hi, everyone.To be honest with you, I have been following each and every Vijay’s movie. Definitely I think this guy has got good potential. But some how or rather , he often gets lost by giving movies like Kuruvi. Too much of heroism. Not sensible at all. Not too sure if it is , what the people of Tamil Nadu wants?To me hollywood movies they don’t just use cgi just for the sake of showing it to the audience. They use it wisely and whether will ,it suit the particular screen play. I think a movie like Billa was not too good, compared to Hindi version of Don was very exciting. Movies are for entertainment, but movies like Kuruvi will be a dissapointing entertainment. Maybe it is as good as watching Tiny Toons on cartoon Network. Have to wait for Kamal’s big project release. Hope fully Dasavatharam will be something unique. Unlike Sivaji nothing much just alot of money probably spent to make Rajinikanth look young. Just a normal plot from Director Shankar. Surya’s Jillunu Oru Khadaal was nice. It was not a expensive movie, but there was a good story flow. Not unnecessary CGI. Even the newly released Santhosh Subramaniam was equally good despite the fact the heroine was over reacting. Conclusion, Vijay’s Kuruvi is not a take off but a ultimate crash,it crashed even before take off. And one more thing, no point being any actors fan, cos this actors earn living by entertaining us. Their gains will never be shared among fans. Take entertainers as someone who are at our service to make us forget our stress & worries. Don’t let them be part of your lives.

This is one of the worst film…i can’t believe some people say this film rocks just because u r a “VIJAY FAN”…
Sure, I am a fan of vijay too…but to say the truth, it was a very disappointing movie for me.
Hope vijay acts in a better film next time.
