Former Prime minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh passed away
New Delhi, Nov 27: Former Prime minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh passed away here in New Delhi following a prolonged ailment. He was 77.
Born on 25 June 1931, V. P. Singh entered local politics in Allahabad during the Nehru era and soon made a name for himself in the state Congress Party for his unfailing rectitude.
Singh was popular for his unrelenting emphasis on implementing the recommendations of Mandal commission.
