Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar Breaks Lara’s record

sachin tendulkar world recordNew Delhi: Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar today created one more milestone in his test career as he surpassed Brian Lara’s world record of most runs in test cricket. Needing just 15 runs to achieve the feat, Sachin entered the field on the first day of the second test against Australia after Rahul Dravid’s dismissal which was followed by the wickets of Gautam Gambhir and VVS Laxman in quick succession. But the Master Blaster played sensibly along with Sourav Ganguly and created the history after playing just 23 balls.

Sachin added this new feather in his cap, 19 years after his debut in test cricket against Pakistan in 1989. The batsman is already the leading centurion in test and ODI, and the highest scorer in fifty over games. It’s a big day today for Sachin as he was under criticism for his poor form for long. Spectators across the world was waiting to see Sachin surpassing Lara’s record, for a long time. But, this long wait ended today just after the tea on the first day of the Mohali test as he pushed the delivery of Peter Siddle to the off side and became the leading scorer in test cricket.

Sachin’s fan in the stadium and his team mates in the dressing room greeted him as soon as he achieved the feat by giving him a standing ovation. Spectators busted the crackers and it was almost a Diwali like look in the PCA stadium after Sachin became the highest runs getter in the world in his 152nd match. While Brian Lara scored 11953 runs in 131 test at an average of 52.89, the Indian batting maestro crossed his achievement in 152 test with an average of 54.11.
