Chiranjeevi the megastar and demi-god of Telugu cinema, has named his party as Prajarajyam or People’s Party.

He declared the party name at a massive rally organised in Tirupati, in typical filmi style with a countdown before naming it.

“I am overwhelmed with people’s response. I can achieve whatever I want through your support,” he said in a public meeting on a stage designed by an art director.

Seven to Eight lakhs of his fans turned up at the rally, which makes it equivalent to a blockbuster opening.

“I know the pain of the people, their woes. I have always played roles which were close to weaker sections of the society,” he added.

He played glowing tributes Babasaheb Ambedkar, Abdul Kalam and Mother Teresa.

It is obvious that Chiru is projecting himself as a backward class leader. Chiranjeevi comes from the backward `Kapu’ community of Andhra Pradesh.

He did not hit out at other political parties, and also did not spell out his ideology though it is obvious he has the interest of the poorest of the poor in his heart.

His political party’s aim is to emerge as a third force in Andhra politics.

However one thing is certain his Prajarajyam has definitely taken a fantastic opening! How big hit it turns out to be will be known in the coming weeks.
