Shreyas Talpade and Rajeev Khandelwal are ganging up against Muzammil Ibrahim and are trying to break apart his marriage.

Well actually the duo are playing home wreaker on the cue of director Aditya Datt of ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ fame for the film ‘Will You Marry Me’, so no real worries here! The film is basically about a gang of three friends who are close pals, but have a fall-out when one of them ties the knot.

Letting us into the thick of the plot a close source informs, “In the film Shreyas’s and Rajeev’s character do not get along well, but because of Muzammil all three of them are weaved together.” Adding that the trouble starts brewing, “When Muzammil falls in love with a girl and decides to get married they all part their ways.”

Actor Muzammil Ibrahim confirms, “I do believe in the fact that it is difficult to sustain friendship post-marriage. As per my personal experience, the add-on responsibilities that come with marriage tend to change our priorities in life and so we all start leading a different life.”

A full-on goofy drama this rom-com promises to show friends as never before, as Shreyas and Rajeev keep creating trouble in Muzammil’s life, keeping him away from getting married.

First Indian equestrian film by Rajeev Khandelwal

Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar have nothing to fear. If their film has Shah Rukh playing the title role in My Name Is Khan, in Pritish Nandy Communications’ Khan, the title role is played by a horse. And Rajeev Khandelwal who plays the jockey is already spending considerable time on the race tracks with reputed jockeys of Mumbai, learning how to be a professional horse rider.

Says Rajeev, “I’ve been riding horses from childhood. My father was in the army. So I was exposed to an equestrian life from the start. However, I’ve realized there’s a vast difference between riding as a hobby and riding professionally. I’ve been unlearning my horse-riding to play the jockey in Khan. It’s fascinating but a tough process. I can’t say I’m not enjoying it.”

Adds the film’s producer Pritish Nandy, “Khan is a film about the relationship between a jockey who’s on a downward slide in life and his horse. It’s sub-title is ‘Second Chances Don’t Come Easily’. Rajeev will have a girl. But the main relationship would be between the jockey and the horse.”

Apparently, the first and most natural choice for the role was the self-proclaimed horse-lover Randeep Hooda. Says Pritish Nandy, “We did think of Randeep first because his pictures with horses are all over the place. But then I thought he was too big-built to play a jockey. Hence we never approached him. Rajeev was hungry and eager for an exciting challenge. And in my lexicon, that makes for a great actor. The fact that he’s fresh and new also contributed to our decision to sign him. We at PNC constantly want to promote new or renewed talent.”

Rajeev is all geared up to play the jockey and establish a rapport with the horse which he compares with the boy’s friendship with the donkey in Santosh Sivan’s Tahaan. “But I don’t really need to get friendly with the horse. In my experiences with jockeys, I’ve been told that horses respond to being controlled. If you are in-charge and fearless on a horse it will carry you well. In that sense horse-riding is a lot like my career.”

About the title, Rajeev jokes, “After Aamir, doing Khan will prove once and for all whom I’d like to model my career on.”

Rajeev Set to Romance

A man who is ruling many females heart is the latest entrant in B town, Rajeev Khandelwal who along with taking in all the female adulation, is also basking in rave reviews that he has been receiving for his performance in his debut film, Aamir. The film, which opened last week, has received unanimous praise from critics and audiences alike, a remarkable feat in today’s times. However, not one to rest on his past laurels, Rajeev has already signed his second film with UTV Spotboy, the same production house that produced Aamir. This time Rajeev will switch genres and take on a romantic comedy directed by India based British filmmaker John Owen. The love story set in Goa, is titled ‘Peter Gaya Kaam’ Se and will see Rajeev playing the role of Peter, taxi bike driver. These are people who drive tourists on their bikes in and around Goa and it is quite a common sight to see them throughout Goa. The film will obviously be shot in Goa and will begin right after the monsoons sometime in September. Finally audiences will get to see a female lead opposite Rajeev, unlike his debut Aamir and although the actor for the role is yet to be finalized, most likely UTV Spotboy will opt for a newcomer. Too bad, we are sure a lot of fans were hoping to see Rajeev paired opposite “good friend” Amna Shariff on the big screen. Guess we will all have to wait a little longer.
