Jessica Simpson has become the latest target for animal rights group PETA after she was spotted wearing a t-shirt with the slogan ‘Real Girls Eat Meat.’

Simpson family insiders told OK! Magazine that the slogan is a subtle dig at boyfriend Tony Romo’s ex-girlfriend, country superstar Carrie Underwood – who has twice been named World’s Sexiest Vegetarian by PETA.

“Jess is sick of hearing about how Tony still has feelings for Carrie,” The Daily Telegraph quoted an insider, as saying

“She’s obviously trying to poke fun at her rival and let her know who really has Tony’s heart,” the insider added.

And now PETA has issued a statement to put Simpson in her place about her preference towards eating red meat. (ANI)

Jessica Simpson’s American footballer boyfriend Tony Romo has dismissed rumours that the former’s father Joe Simpson interfered with his romance.

Romo has laughed off the reports that Jessica’s dad had tried to drive a wedge between him and the singer, dismissing the rumours as “laughable”.

The couple were said to have split last month (May08), with the cause of the break up being blamed on Romo, who the American tabloids said had grown sick of Joe meddling with their romance.

But ever since the so-called break up, the couple have been photographed out and about together, putting on a united front against the accusations.

In defence to the accusations, Joe, who manages both his daughters career, recently hit out at the allegations, insisting he hasn’t stepped over the line.

Romo, who is very tired of the rumours, issued a brief statement to People.com in a bid to silence their critics.

“It’s all laughable. (Joe’s characterisation is) so far from the truth,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling the magazine. (ANI)
