About Dasavatharam:
Kamal Hassan plays ten different roles. The lead actress in Dasavatharam is Asin (Asin Thottumkal) who plays two different roles. Dasavatharam will be dubbed into Hindi, Telegu, Malayalam, Bhojpuri and Bengali. However the title will not be altered. Himesh Reshammiya is in charge of Dasavatharam’s sound track.
There are several contrasting roles played by Kamal Hassan in the movie, in which he play A Brahmin, A Dwarf, A Scientist, A Fighter, A Black Man, A Tourist Guide, An Old Woman, A Robber, A Young Lady, An Emperor. Comprising of over two hours of computer graphics, the movie had took its own sweet time in post-production. The entire graphics is taken care by Hong Kong-based VA which did the graphics for the film “Day After Tomorrow”. Every one must look out for the awesome tsunami effect on a two-acre spread artificially created and filmed at Uthandi on ECR, Chennai. About 50 Hollywood technicians had to be brought from US to train local technicians. For the visual effects, Bryan from Los Angeles had come to work with the unit.

The movie is a whole entertainer with Kamal Hasaan doing perfectly 10 different role which takes us to a Hollywood style of movie to watch on a Big Screen with Visula Effects and Graphis. The Movie with a budget of 70 crore is indeed a worth l watchable. It is a Landmark Movie in the Kamal Hasaan Carrer and also Tamil Flilm Industry.
Story Line:
The film starts of with Govindarajan (Kamal Haasan), a scientist from NASA addressing to the huge crowd at Nehru Stadium with Chief Minister Karunanidhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and American President George Bush seated as chief guests. In his speech, Govindarajan speaks about the history of a statue that has passed through many ages carrying supernatural power.
The movie shifts to couple of years ago Chola Empire 12th century . There Raja Nambi (Kamal Haasan) a Vaishnavaite youth wildly attacks his king’s soldiers for removing a God’s statue from the temple. Enraged King Raja Kulothunga (Napoleon) takes Raja Nambi tied to the statue of idol Lord Vishnu and throws him into the sea. He is reborn in the 21st century Washington DC as Govind Ramasamy, who works for a Biotech Company in the US . His company is on the verge of selling Bio-chemical weapon to Anti-socials, which may wipe out the human race.
Govind is out to stop this from happening. This situation brings him from Us to india , but his every move had been follwed by Christian Fletcher (Kamal again) who has been assigned by the weapons manufacturer to kill Govind and get the sample back. As movie progresses the tale further moves about for other 4 days where 9 different characters encounter in between each other and interact . In this tale we can see as a mentally-retarded old woman, a Japanese martial arts instructor, a Punjabi singer, a Dalit youth fighting for justice, a tall innocent Muslim, and also US President George Bush. Govind is held captive by Telugu Intelligence officer (Balram Naidu also Kamal) on his return India and the rest of the story is revolves around how Govind retrives the sample and saves the world.
Performances:
The Movie is out and out Kamal Hasan Movie. Kamal Haasan’s Perfection and Dedication visible all through and carried out all 10 characters Perfectly Outstandingly. Grand Ma’s Character, Govind Raj escape scene from Fletche, Kungfu Master Climax figh, Balaram nadar’s Comedy, Rangaraja Nambi Entry Fight are Best scenes.
Despite playing Dual roles in the film, Asin hasn’t got much to do on her part. Her work particularly as Bramhin Girl is Outstanding. Malikka Sherawat with an item number and few series of sequences fills glamour and perform equally well and sacrifices her life.
Editing, fighting, lighting and settings ,Visual Effects and Graphic Work like Tunami Scene and Tamil Nadu Sky View are top-class.Camera work was outstanding . Music of Himesh Reshmaiyya makes a good soothing and fresh -feel to the songs. While Devi Sri Prasad has done his best in re-recording. He gives the movie the right pep and right feel.
This is an awesome movie delivered by K.S.Ravikumar with a technically top-class and visul effects.On Whole ‘Dasavatharam’ not only lives up to all expectations but lives up to the expectations and sets a new benchmark for Indian films.

Still not got a chance to watch the brilliance of Kamalji in Dasavatharam. Seeing the reviews in so many websites I am able to understand that even though the story line is poor, the technical brilliance and Kamal sir’s acting worth the price paid for watching the movie in theater. Particularly everyone are wondering about the Tsunami scene’s brilliance. Hats off to the Dasavatharam team on this success.

People will see the same story in Hollywood movies and praise them. But when it comes for Tamil Industry, whatever hard work they do, people will say average only. First try to appreciate the things guys. Excellent work by Kamalhassan Sir and K.S Ravikumar. Sound Effects,songs, Photography and everything is gud. All the 10 chars Kamal sir lived up, Especially RangarajaNambi character entry is Awesome. Comedy is the best part and escaping scene from Plutcher is too gud. T -Sunami effects are brilliant. Hats off to Kamal Sir and the whole team of Dasavatharam..
Movie is excellent. Some critics may tell about the story line up. Try to understand the full concept before making critics. His brilliant effort in every character, his body language in every role is awesome. Please guys try to get away from masala movies with four love songs and heroic fights. Try to change your thinking. It is the duty of film lovers to encourage this kind of brilliance and pave way for our kamal-ji to move forward and encourage his hard work.
